Amp Up Your Party for the Big Game
It’s that time again and one of the biggest sporting events in the United States is right around the corner. For many, this exciting night is filled with cheers or tears. Others plan get-togethers to really make the event extra exciting. If you’re looking to throw a super-bowl party, or, just have friends and family over, here’s a six tips to help you get ready and keep things focused on the game.
1 – Know Who’s Coming
You should have a general idea about how many guests are expected to show up, especially if you’re serving food or planning a big event. Is it a few casual acquaintances or a whole entourage of friends? Once you know, you can make arrangements, such as how many chairs you’ll need. This is especially important if you’re planning to serve food and drinks.
2 – To Drink or Not to Drink
It’s worth knowing if you or anyone else plans to drink alcohol. If they do, how much? Regardless of your preferred alcoholic choice, you’ll need designated drivers. Plan ahead and let the guests know if there will be alcohol so everyone can prepare accordingly.
Considering frustration and alcohol don’t mix well, we recommended keeping it to a low amount.
3 – Budget for Food
If there’s food, plan for how much is necessary. For simplicity’s sake, we recommend snacks and a few main dishes with a quick cook time and low mess, like wings. You can also go the tried and true with pizza (although you may want to order at an earlier time or get them in advance to avoid waits).
If possible, get your friends to buy in with you, unless you’re feeling generous. We don’t advise going overboard, because snacks go fast and there’s a mess to deal with after the fact.
4 – Decorations
Depending on how big you want to go, decorations are a mixed bag – sometimes literally. You can fancy up your living room with all sorts of Super Bowl themed paraphernalia. But, in the same vein, think about cleaning up after the fact.
We recommend decorations which are easy to dispose of later, like paper banners. Anything more complicated and you’re looking at a boring “after party,” especially for a one-night event.
5 – The Entertainment
It’s worth figuring out how you’ll be watching the Super Bowl game. Mobile Attic recommends getting this figured out several days in advance. It won’t surprise you that a lot of services try to get you woven into their subscription model (such as a sports package) even though you just want to see the Super Bowl.
You should have the game available on regular channels if you’re using cable or satellite, but if not, you’ll want to know what options you have. If streaming, make sure your internet is stable and the quality is good.
6 – The Space
All of the above things can take up a lot of space. If there is one thing we are good at here at Mobile Attic, it is getting you more space. There is no better place to store your belongings while you plan your big game party, than in a safe, secure Mobile Attic storage pod.
If you need additional space, consider a mobile pod by contacting Mobile Attic today.
